Tommy Boy [1995] at 23 years old today, is still one of the most genuine comedies of all time

Tommy Boy was released 23 years ago today. On the surface 'Tommy Boy' is a goofy slapstick road trip nineties comedy, and it checks each of those boxes with ease. But thanks to the performances of Chris Farley, who fires perfectly, overwhelmingly, and hilariously on all cylinders consistently throughout, and that of David Spade who somehow manages to keep up (which is no easy feat, i'm sure), we have what feels like a very genuine story supported by genuine characters. And behind the pratfalls and physical comedy. We have a funny, quotable, authentic and heartfelt film about boy, who loves his dad and his community, becoming a 'mostly' responsible man. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2J69iq9
