“Beavis and Butt-Head Do America” needs a re-evaluation as one of wittier satires of the MTV generation.
The movie has aged pretty well, even when keeping with the animation style of the series; sketchy, loose, unhinged. It captures that aura of Beavis and Butt-Head pretty well, so its a way for people to experience everything their humor represented in the 90s without losing brain cells after more than 90 minutes of it. Haha. But its just clever writing. The way everybody reacts to both characters. The insanity of their very existence. The parody of 90s action movie clichés, yet still satirizing American culture (personality types from class, clique, etc.) and politics (the entire climax is in D.C.)Plus, it has one of the most 90s hallucination sequences ever.I know the series has its fans, but I’m surprised the movie isn’t talked about more, too. We know the fanbase didn’t realize Mike Judge was making fun of them when it was such a huge success, but in today’s perspective it’s still a whole lot of fun, and somehow witty about being stupid. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2DRsQKN
