Did they remove music from Titanic for rerelease?
Titanic is one of my favorite films so I have seen it quite a few times. I took my mom to go see it over the weekend and we both noticed 2 scenes where they removed the score in our version. The portrait scene where Jack is drawing Rose was completely silent and just the sound of the pencil drawing on the paper. It was kind of off putting and made the scene a bit more awkward. Usually an acoustic version of the Film's score plays over this. After the portrait scene they are running from Lovejoy and make their way into the boiler room and start running through there. Rose's dress is flowing and usually there is the Irish party music playing in the background making it a fun scene but it was either just the sound of the boilers or another sound but it wasn't the Irish music. Made the scene more serious and melancholy.I have confirmed that the music was as I remembered it by playing my old Titanic DVD when I got home and checked some YT videos that show the scenes. But I can't find anything online talking about the changes made.Did anyone else notice this on their rewatch or have you seen anything talking about these changes?Edit** A couple users have brought up the Dolby Atmos update to the film along with sound channel issues that some theaters can have can omit whole portions of a track. I am leaning towards this as the issue. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/nup5jyH
