Looking for a movie where the kids are normal kids

My son and I are watching this movie right now and he says, "kids aren't like that in real life" lol. I agree. Any suggestions for a movie where the kids seem to be more authentic? Probably none by Disney or nickelodeon. I think like the kids in that movie The Cure from 1995 are pretty normal seeming kids. Minus the HIV.
