Are there any movies where the villains unambiguously win at the end?

I’m not talking about endings with big cliffhangers like “Avengers: Infinity War” or where the bad guy wins but the good guys learn an important lesson like “It’s a Wonderful Life”.Are there any movies where the villain (or an unfortunate situation) unambiguously wins, the world is worse, and we the audience have to live with it? I suppose “Don’t Look Up” is one example here, but that is more of a comedy and nobody wins.Any examples? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3qRXTSG
