What is the scariest film you've ever watched?
For me, it's a competition between The Exorcist and Hereditary. The Exorcist is a film I heard about through the classic Scary Maze Game as a kid. I was wondering where that face was from, because it burned itself into my mind and gave me nightmares. I learned it was from this film called The Exorcist, that had been banned in my country on its release and was labeled the "scariest film of all time". Naturally this intense curiousity and fear flowed in me after this. I was so facinated! I remember asking my mom about it, and she said she had seen it but never wanted to again.I don't remember when I watched it for the first time, but I remember feeling... sick. Not becauase of gore or anything, but because the film feels... evil. I love haunted house movies, demon movies, if they're done well. They can be quite a lot of fun, and horror is my favorite genre! But only a few films have made me feel... unwell because of how well the tone of the film was handled. Hereditary is one of them, and the Exorcist is the crown jewel of this. Today I'm 25 years old, and even to this day, I jump in a small shock whenever Regan's face pops up anywhere online. And of course, the film itself and its story is amazing. Soundtrack is great, visuals are incredible especially for its time, and the characters are great and it brings up interesting questions in the film's main theme about evil and humanity. I believe The Exorcist is the one film I don't want to watch again, especially alone. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3Slnqer
