Has anyone noticed that nearly all Phil Lord/Christopher Miller animated movies share a strikingly similar plot?

A group of ragtag underdogs have to insert a mcguffin into a nefarious device in order to save the world, the plot heavily involves a father/child dynamic pushing the drama, and one of said underdogs suddenly obtains absurdly powerful strength in the third act in order to help the protagonist ex machina style.I also want to state that this isn't a complaint, just an observation. Clearly this method of storytelling works for Lord and Miller given how positively recieved each movie is. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/QC95RJv
