Watched Sicario (2015) For The First Time Last Night…
…what a movie. This was AMAZING! I am so upset with myself that I didn’t watch it sooner. It wonderfully keeps you glued to the screen from the first minute. Roger Deakins’ cinematography is beautiful and so many shots looked like paintings. Surreal. Truly, undoubtedly surreal. I watched a video of a guy talking about Denis Villeneuve’s films and when he got to talking about Sicario he said something about the score. He said that Jóhann Jóhannson’s score sounds like a descent into the pits of Hell and it’s true. Intense, thrilling, terrifying. The direction by Denis Villeneuve is exactly what you come to expect from him and someone of his talents. The acting is some of the best of both Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro’s respective careers. This was an incredible experience with a hauntingly dark message that rings true.My personal favorite scenesThe border crossing highway sceneThe dinner table sceneThe paper signing sceneI want to keep those as vague as possible in case someone hasn't seen the movie yet. While this post is calling for discussion and will likely contain spoilers for the movie in the comments, this is a moment of recommendation. If you right now are reading this and have yet to watch this phenomenal movie, go and do so. It should be free on Pluto TV right now and is available to buy or rent on the usual sites (YouTube, Amazon, etc.). Go watch the movie then come back and be part of the discussion. You will not regret it, I promise you. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3z9J68c
