Tron CGI aged like wine

Specifically the 1982 Tron. Most old movies with CGI from the early stages of CGI age like milk. We watch them now, and we laugh. They're so ugly, unrefined, simple. Not Tron, though. Tron's CGI has aged like wine. Tron's graphics are... appropriate. We can't watch Tron now and laugh, because Tron is a movie about a world within a computer... a computer from the early 1980s. In the world of Tron, it makes sense that things would look the way they do - it fits the technology of the time. If anything, the new Tron movie is inappropriate.
