"Kill Bill" was supposed to give Uma Thurman her comeback. Instead, it kept her from advancing to the next stage.

For years, I wondered what happened to Uma Thurman's career after KILL BILL. I remember how hyped Kill Bill: Vol.1 and the strong reception it got. When Uma Thurman was cast, people were skeptical but when the movie came out, the public was wowed. It was uncanny. So I was shocked by how little that movie did for her career. She did a few forgettable movies like PRIME and the horrendous MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND and BE COOL (only worth watching for The Rock playing a gay role). Now she's pretty much a character actress. Now I know what happened. The stunt she was forced to do went wrong and she nearly died from it. That and Harvey Weinstein kind of ruined her second comeback. She could have had a Nicole Kidman type revival but instead she was placed in semi-obscurity. Nobody in KILL BILL got any benefit from it, even the girl who played Gogo Yubari. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3EwUlJr
