Tom Cruise jumped out of a plane 106 times to get the Halo Jump (30K feet jump) stunt right in the new Mission Impossible: Fallout

Sorry if this was posted before but I found this tidbit in this article talking about the box office success this weekend. It deserves it too, awesome movie.https://ift.tt/2mPgBbz wow Tom Cruise just keeps raising the bar in these death defying stunts. First the actual jump in the movie is incredible, all the set pieces actually are. Especially jaw dropping in IMAX, def worth the price. (Here’s a video of them talking about the stunt https://youtu.be/2BnOebsDtAQ)But two things I realized after the movie is (first being how awesome it and the series has been) but how insane Tom Cruise is for doing his own stunts. This guy is mid 50’s and doing crazy stunts. The scene where he jumps from rooftop to rooftop and destroys his ankle is kept in (edit: as comments say they show the aftermath with him hobbling) the scene is apart of a crazy running scene with Cruise going 100 percent (Cruise running? Shocking I know).I know people are weirded by the Scientology aspect but damn got to give this man his props. This essentially is a appreciation post lol but damn Thanks Tom for making Mission Impossible one of the best action franchises ever that’s still going. As Ving Rhames would say “My Man”Edit: One of my favorite reviews of the movie and sums up my post nicely is from Indiewire“He’s only Tom Cruise because nobody else is willing to be — or maybe he’s only Tom Cruise so that nobody else has to be. Either way, Fallout is the film he’s always promised us, and it was totally worth the wait.” via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2vhbN2z
