"Death Becomes Her" is a hilarious "horror-comedy" with cool special effects, two funny leading ladies in Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis bringing the comic timing he once displayed before he turned into an action star

I love this movie. It's so good. I just read that it's going to be adapted into a musical for Broadway and all I could think of is that laugh-out loud opening number with a ravishingly beautiful Meryl Streep giving us a showstopping "bad musical performance" of "(I See) Me". Her Madeline Ashton is an unrepentant narcissistic bitch and Streep has fun with it. Goldie Hawn also doesn't disappoint, she's not only drop dead gorgeous (though we see her in a very convincing fat suit early on) but she's a comedy genius, her humor is so subtle but biting that I wish she worked more these days. And Bruce Willis reminds us that he started out his career in comedy with Moonlighting. Here he's nearly unrecognizable but gives a performance which is absolutely funny and riveting and far away from John McClane. He's always been a brilliant actor which is why it's a pity he wasn't more versatile in his choices in the nineties and 2000s. Also, Isabella Rosselini brings old Hollywood glamour in her small but memorable role. She's her mother's daughter but she also adds a Louise Brooks' mystique into her performance and seductive side. The film itself offers dark humor, a epic cat-fight of ghoulish proportions and an interesting analysis on superficiality and the thirst for youth and beauty and how low you'd go to preserve it. via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2kwQzZg
