Jim Carrey in The Truman Show may be one of my favourite examples of his strength as a physical performer
When you want to talk about his physicality, his highly-energetic and eccentric roles such as Ace Ventura and The Mask are obviously at the forefront of the mind. But in the Truman Show, that skill is used to present the emotional turmoil his character goes through in such an exciting way that it feels just as genuine and unpredictable to the audience as it does to the other characters. It's present throughout the film as he slowly realises, yes, but the final scene is especially impressive in that you can see his progress from relief, to horror, to anguish, and to bittersweet resolution just from the way he tilts his head, tenses his shoulders, holds his posture. It needs no words to say everything, and I don't think many other actors would pull it off in the unique way Jim Carrey did. via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2Coa7rc
