PROOF: https://ift.tt/ZYOme2y 2021, Andreas Malm published How to Blow Up a Pipeline: Learning to Fight in a World on Fire, arguing that nearly all successful social justice movements have significantly disrupted the status quo, often by deploying militant tactics including sabotage and property destruction. Noting that the climate movement has almost entirely refused to use these tactics—despite the existential threat that climate change poses to life on earth—Malm asks if the time has come for escalation.Excited by the ideas of the book, we decided to turn the academic manifesto into a heist movie. Our version of How to Blow Up a Pipeline stars Ariela Barer, Kristine Froseth, Lukas Gage, Forrest Goodluck, Sasha Lane, Jayme Lawson, Marcus Scribner, and Jake Weary. They play a group of eight young people who, all for their own reasons, decide to go to West Texas and, well, blow up a pipeline. We are Daniel Goldhaber (director, writer, producer), Ariela Barer (writer, actor, producer), Jordan Sjol (writer, producer), and Daniel Garber (editor).Watch the trailer via /r/movies https://ift.tt/pN7zQAu
