The Cloverfield franchise is an ingenious way to bring original, high-concept films to the big screen, that may otherwise not get produced.
How often do we complain about a lack of original films and the 'franchise' machine. Now Cloverfield seems to be an ingenious method to bring original films to the masses, while still tailoring them to a franchise. A found-footage monster movie. Cellar based suspense, thriller. A stranded in space, sci-fi. And now a supernatural ww2 horror (?). Above all else Cloverfield now, to me at least, means that some of those amazing sounding scripts from the Black List, or high concept stories we don't know about yet, can get the chance to be seen by a much bigger audience and thus encourage more risk taking in Hollywood. God I hope God Particle is awesome. via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2DLPlFT
