What is the most pretentious movie you've ever seen?
That film made by some squinty-eyed, mumbling director with the Jerry Garcia hair who likes to shoot his scenes with only natural lighting through a south-facing window at 3:00 in the afternoon, every shot off-kilter and tilted at a 45 degree angle. That movie where all the characters talk in metaphors, and there are numerous closeups of their mouths and eyelashes, and they don't actually react like normal people to anything. That movie where you picked up on the allegory 15 minutes in, and you pray to God that isn't what this whole story is going to be about. Then you realize that is what the film is about, and you roll your eyes thinking about the director and the actors patting themselves on the back for being in such a deep, artsy movie. My pick: Lady in the Water via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2zHTKaI
