Justice League and giant mechanical spiders

Kevin Smith told a great story about a Warner Bros exec telling him that he needed to add a giant mechanical spider to his script for a Superman film. He then explains that a huge giant mechanical spider shows up in Wild Wild West a year later.I saw Justice League on Friday and lo and behold a giant mechanical spider shows up for no apparent reason. Was the same producer involved? Did KS mention this in his review of the movie? I saw the review on Youtube and it's two hours long. (that dud can talk) Thoughts? via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2k5EQUL
