Val Kilmer as “Doc” Holiday in Tombstone(1993), Probably the Greatest Snub in Oscar History

29 years later that performance still amazes me. I’ve tried to rationalize all of these years by thinking Kilmer’s shutout from Oscar consideration had to be the result of some funky AAMPAS politics -cause it sure as hell wasn’t due to lack of artistic endeavor or execution on his part. There’s something about how Kilmer delivered up the quietly violent “Doc” persona with charm, humor and pure cool.
