Jim Carrey’s The Mask (1994) holds up exceptionally well even in 2022
I just rewatched The Mask yesterday after about 20 years. It holds up way better than I was expecting in every department. The CGI was unreal for its time and is still better than it has any right to be. On top of that, almost all of the jokes landed, though maybe not all of them. It was a bit darker than I remember, too. It doesn’t hurt that it was acted really well. There’s not a bad performance in the entire film - especially given the source material. All in all, it was and still is a great romp. Jim Carrey looked so young! I can’t imagine anyone else in the role. He killed it. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/KYExkbW
