Name a movie that was supposed to be the beginning of a franchise but ended up failing miserably
Every major Hollywood studio has one major franchise under their belt whether it be Star Wars, Harry Potter, Fast & Furious, etc. But what about the movies that are meant to be “franchise-starters” but end up bombing which leads to a cancellation of the franchise?Examples:Green Lantern (2011): Apparently, if this movie was more successful, it would have been the start of the DCEU.John Carter (2012): Disney has been trying to find their next “Pirates of the Caribbean” outside of Marvel and Star Wars and John Carter is one of their many failed attempts at doing so.The Mummy (2017): Supposed to be the start of the Universal’s Dark Universe franchise but it bombed. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3ALZLyW
