Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance is unfairly hated and is the second best in the series.

Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance is unfairly hated and is the second best Die Hard film.I've previously noticed people IRL, on reddit, and online in general, have a lower opinion of DH3 which is fine everyone has their opinion. But I recently noticed that it's the 2nd lowest rated film in the franchise on both Rotten Tomatoes (57%) and Metacritic (58). This is ridiculous. DH3 is an AMAZING film, for several reasons:McClane is in NY, his hometown. He represents the city he loves. Plus so much footage is shot on location in the busy streets and congested areas. The Central Park scene is great.Jeremy Irons AND Samuel L. Jackson?! ("He didn't say Jésus. He said, "Hey, Zeus!" My name is Zeus. As in, father of Apollo? Mt. Olympus? Don't fuck with me or I'll shove a lightning bolt up your ass? Zeus! You got a problem with that?").The plot has clever twists and turns, along with having connections to the first film.It drops the repeated tropes from the fist 2 films (Christmas time, Holly being in direct danger, Al the cop, the annoying reporter).John McTiernan is BACK! And he directs the shit out of this film, his skill behind the camera was really missing from DH2: Die Harder. The action is great. So many bloody and brutal moments like the guy getting cut in half by the wire and the elevator shootout. Now, I know Die Hard is considered one of the best action films of all time and rightly so... but DH3 is a strong film and the best sequel in the franchise. This film is leagues better than Die Hard 2, it feels like a cheap, corporate sequel pumped out 2 years after the first simply for profits. But don’t get me wrong, DH2 is still a fun time and by no means bad but hard to follow up after the original. It also sits firmly over Die Hard 4 which, to me, wasn't that bad of a sequel either. There was cool practical stunts and an interesting premise, although McClane did receive some superhero level damage during his adventure and walked away fine.Don't start on Die Hard 5. That's a fucking dumpster fire and an abomination. Fuck John Moore (Director) and fuck Skip Woods (Writer). Truly upsetting that film was made. McClane doesn't even feel like McClane in that film, he's some boneheaded idiot endangering civilian lives by driving over cars and punching people. It's the GoT S8 of the Die Hard series.Sorry to rant. Long story short. Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance deserves more love and is criminally underrated on RT and Metacritic. If you haven't watched it, please do. It's great! via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2YQ7quX
