Shaky cam doesn't make you feel like, "you are part of the action". It makes you feel like the director is incompetent.

I think when it comes to action cinematography, I associate shaky cam with trying to hide imperfections in your movie in the worst possible way. I get that some actors are not very athletic, but have you ever seen Into the Badlands? They made Nick Frost into a believable Kung Fu master. Hire some Chinese action choreographers and stop shaking the cam. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2SdEqdw
