Why don't they make remakes of BAD movies instead of good movies? Wouldn't it make more sense to take a bad movie with a good premise and make it great than to take a great movie and make it mediocre?

What are some bad films with cool premises that you wish were remade to be better movies?Personally my top pick is Downsizing, it had a great cast with cool premise but ended up being too long and really not utilizing the shrinking aspect of the plot almost at all after the first act. They couldn't figure out what they wanted to be. Was it a whimsical comedy? a commentary on social issues like immigration or global warming ? or a drama about a newly single man with no real path? anyway what are some of your picks?EDIT: The question of Why is rhetorical, obviously money is the reason but in a perfect world where that didn't exist what bad movies would you have remade? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2FuFfas
